Practice Philosophy
We are a team dedicated to excellence in dentistry. Our facilities and equipment are the best available, and our staff undertake continuing education and training in their quest to provide an exceptional standard of care. Our sterilisation and safety protocols are state of the art.
Believing that prevention is better than cure, St Quentin has established a Dental Hygiene Department to educate and assist patients with their ongoing oral health. The Department is staffed by trained dental hygienists who specialise in preventive care and advice, helping patients to enjoy healthy teeth and gums throughout their lives.
The health and wellbeing of patients is always our first priority.
Dentist profiles
Dr Timothy Tan BDSc (WA)

Dr Timothy Tan graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1991. He spent the following two years as an associate in private practice in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, followed by a year of travel in 1994. During his travels, he started work as a journalist, writing about his two favourite topics, wine and sport. It was also during this time that he met his future wife, Bernadette.
In 1996, they moved back to Perth where Tim returned to private practice as a sole practitioner in Raine Square, in the Perth CBD. In 1999, he began full time study for his Masters degree and also started part time work at St Quentin Avenue Dental Clinic (as it was known then). After obtaining an advanced MBA in finance in 2000, Tim began full time work at St Quentin’s, becoming a partner in 2002.
Tim enjoys practising all aspects of dentistry but in particular he enjoys the challenge of cosmetic and implant dentistry. Tim and his wife Bernadette now have three sons who attend school locally.
Dr Asheen Behari B.D.S. (Witwatersrand)

Post Graduate Diploma Clinical Dentistry – Oral Implants (Sydney)
Clinical Senior Lecturer (UWA)
Dr Asheen Behari graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1993. In September of that year he started a private dental practice in Durban. He spent five years in practice there and during that time was a clinical tutor at the University and did voluntary work in a craniofacial unit and at a local clinic for disadvantaged people.
In 1999 Asheen was offered a position to practice private dentistry in Kensington, London. He was able to further his interest in aesthetic dentistry whilst there and attended many learning programs in the UK and internationally. Asheen moved to Perth in 2004 and started practice at St Quentin Dental. He became involved in implant dentistry in 1994 and in 2007 completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry – Oral Implants at the University of Sydney.
Asheen dedicates one day per week towards teaching final year undergraduate dental students at the University of Western Australia where he is a Clinical Senior Lecturer. His main fields of interest are in aesthetic, implant and reconstructive dentistry.
“Our practice has a strong preventative program at its core. This helps our patients to maintain optimal oral health and wellbeing and is a foundation for allowing us to practice excellent dentistry.”
Dr Tony Bovell BDSc (WA)

Dr Tony Bovell graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1976. He then spent several years as an associate practising in England. Upon his return from the UK he became a partner at St Quentin Avenue Dental Clinic (as it was known then) in Claremont.
Wanting to expand the business in 2000, Tony and partners created the purpose built, state of the art surgery on Stirling Highway in Claremont, now known as St Quentin Dental.
Tony and his family have been living and working in the Claremont area for several generations, his grandmother founding Bovell Pies in Claremont. He actively participates and contributes to the local community including his beloved Claremont Tigers, for whom he played at league level.
Tony enjoys practising all aspects of general dentistry, but in particular aesthetic dentistry and crown and bridge work. The advent of dental implants has created a new and interesting sphere of dentistry with which Tony has been involved for over 10 years. Tony combines his many years of invaluable experience with his ongoing desire to perfect the art of dentistry.
