Practice Philosophy
At Align Dental we intend to make a real and positive improvement in the lives of our patients by providing comprehensive dental care in a warm, caring environment. We recognise and treat each patient as a unique individual and utilise the latest techniques and most advanced equipment to provide optimum care with patient comfort in mind.
Our philosophy is based on a total health assessment of each patient. To maintain the ideal structural alignment of the body the biomechanics of the head, neck and craniomandibular system must be considered. There is a correlation between the position of the maxillary arch (upper jaw), mandibular arch (lower jaw), plane of occlusion (bite plane) and overall body posture. When the plane of occlusion and the position of the upper and lower jaws are in alignment the head is better able to maintain the correct position in the structural alignment of the body. It is well established that jaw posture affects head posture which in turn affects overall body posture.
This philosophy is then applied to all patients particularly those requiring or requesting reconstructive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry (smile makeovers), orthodontic treatment and patients with temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), head and neck pain. Our motto is to not only “look great” but to “feel great” also.
Dentist Profiles
Dr Darryl Moses B.D.S.(Syd Uni) Practice Principal
Darryl graduated from the University of Sydney in 1982 and has worked in private practice since graduation. Darryl has undertaken numerous post graduate education programmes in Australia, Europe and America and has spent the last six years working in close association with Dr Steven Olmos (San Diego, California) who is regarded as one of the leading clinicians and researchers in the fields of temporomandibular joint disorders, craniofacial pain and sleep disorders dentistry. Darryl views dentistry as a constant learning curve.
Outside of his professional life Darryl loves spending time with his family. He has a passion for architecture and interior design, enjoys squash and is a fanatical AFL supporter (Sydney Swans).
Dr Neil Stackpool BDS (SYD UNI)
Neil graduated from Sydney University in 1982, after which he spent two years at Westmead Hospital as a dental officer and tutor to final year students. He also worked in the UK, rural NSW and ACT before beginning work in the Hills District in 1988. He has had a continuing association with the Australian Army Dental Corps for some years. He regularly attends continuing education courses.
Neil’s outside interests are his family, rugby union and water sports.
