Julie’s main concern of the appearance of her teeth was the
colour. After quitting smoking only recently, she has never
liked the colour of her teeth.
Julie presented with a lower partial denture, which was only
placed recently but she complained that it never felt
comfortable and was always loose. Julie also had missing
teeth which was highly noticeable when she smiled.
Treatment Provided
Digital Panoramic Radiograph
On initial consultation a Digital Panoramic X-ray was taken. This
enables dentists and their patients to get a complete, detailed
picture of what treatment is required.
Bridge
A three unit Zirconia bridge was fabricated to replace her
missing teeth in the upper arch.
New denture
A new lower partial denture was also fabricated to replace her
existing denture which was never comfortable.
Preventative care (Dental prophylaxis)
Deep scaling and polishing to remove the buildup of heavy plaque (also known as calculus
and tartar) and staining on Julies’s teeth, helping prevent cavities, further tooth loss and gum
disease.
Teeth whitening
In order to treat Julie’s main concern, all other remaining teeth in the lower arch and upper arch
were whitened with ZOOM whitening using ‘power start swabs’ (which improve the whitening
effect and reduce sensitivity) with fantastic results.
RESULTS – A whiter more comfortable smile.

Donald had many missing teeth and advanced gum disease
on his remaining teeth. His ability to chew food was greatly
compromised by his missing teeth and ill fitting denture.
Having missing teeth on the bottom also aged him
significantly.
Treatment Provided
Photos and Radiographic records
Photos and radiographic records were taken to allow
accurate assessment of the existing dentition
(development and arrangement of teeth in his mouth) and
to give Donald a visual view of the treatment needed.
Preventative care (Dental prophylaxis)
Deep scaling and polishing to remove the buildup of heavy
plaque (also known as calculus and tartar) and staining on
Donald’s remaining teeth, helping prevent cavities, further tooth
loss and gum disease.
Oral hygiene routine
Cariscreen and caries free rinse program. Custom trays of GC
tooth mousse were created for home use, which will help
prevent tooth decay (that can lead to cavities, pain, tooth loss
and infection) and minimise intrinsic staining (white specs on teeth).
Removal of highly infected teeth was performed to enable a healthy mouth.
Upper and lower partial denture
Due to the tight time frame an upper and lower partial denture was made. Valplast dentures were Extractions
made for a highly aesthetic and functional result.
Teeth whitening
BriteSmile whitening system was used to whiten Donald’s teeth. Custom trays were also made to
give Donald a whitening maintenance program to help sustain his whiter smile.
RESULTS – A highly functional smile that takes years off his appearance.
