Julie was never happy about the discolouration of her “front” teeth, and a “small chip in upper and lower teeth”. Julie is also a heavy teeth grinder.
Treatment Provided
Digital Panoramic Radiograph
On initial consultation a Digital Panoramic X-ray was taken. This enables dentists and their patients to get a complete, detailed picture of what treatment is required.
Veneers
4 Porcelain Veneers were placed on her upper teeth
Gum lift
Gum lifts in upper arch to “show more teeth” (Julie is a heavy grinder, and has worn away her own natural teeth).
Preventative care (Dental prophylaxis)
Deep scaling and polishing to remove the buildup of heavy plaque (also known as calculus and tartar) and staining on Wendy’s teeth, helping prevent cavities and gum disease.
Odontoplasty
On lower anterior teeth to recontour where her teeth were uneven due to the grinding.
Teeth Whitening
ZOOM whitening of upper and lower arches, using “Power start swabs” (which improve the whitening effect and reduce sensitivity).
White fillings
Tooth coloured filling on lower left molar.
Splint
Occlusal Splint made and issued to prevent any further grinding of her own natural teeth and Porcelain Veneers.
RESULTS – Stronger, longer lasting teeth.

Neil’s main concerns were his yellow teeth and his uneven front teeth which he felt stuck out. Neil also suffered great discomfort and sensitivity from wearing out the sides of his teeth.

Photos and Radiographic records
Photos and radiographic records were taken to allow accurate assessment of the existing dentition (development and arrangement of teeth in his mouth) and to give Neil a visual view of the treatment needed.
Preventative care (Dental prophylaxis)
Deep scaling and polishing to remove the buildup of heavy plaque (also known as calculus and tartar) and staining on Neil’s teeth, helping prevent cavities and gum disease.
Oral hygiene routine
Cariscreen and caries free rinse program. Custom trays of GC tooth mousse were created for home use, which will help prevent tooth decay (that can lead to cavities, pain, tooth loss and infection) and minimise intrinsic staining (white specs on teeth).
Composite Facings
To rejuvenate his teeth, facings made of white filling materials were contoured to his teeth to allow for a more even look.
Enamel build up
Composite build ups were performed to eliminate the yellowing grooves on the side of Neil’s teeth. This process eliminates sensitivity and also gives the teeth a rejuvenated appearance.
Teeth whitening
BriteSmile whitening system was used to whiten Neil’s teeth. Custom trays were also made to give Neil a whitening maintenance program to take home to help sustain his whiter smile.
RESULTS – Neil’s smile has been transformed to a whiter more even smile without sensitivity.
