Andrea came to visit Dr Carr with overall healthy teeth and
gums.
Andrea’s biggest concern of her smile was the colour of her
teeth and “overlapping teeth”.
Treatment Provided
Digital Panoramic Radiograph
On initial consultation a Digital Panoramic X-ray was taken.
This enables dentists and their patients to get a complete,
detailed picture of what treatment is required.
Clean and polish
Deep scale and polish, to remove calculus/tartar build up and
staining caused from drinking coffee and red wine and smoking.
Gum lift
Cosmetic gum lift on upper arch by removing excess gum tissue
to reduce her “gummy smile”.
Balancing the smile
Odontoplasty is an artistic shaping of worn teeth to make them
look more beautiful by rounding flattened sharp edges back into a
softer more aesthetic form. This was performed on upper and lower arches.
Veneers
Two bonded composite veneers were used to build out these teeth to create a more balanced
smile and reduce the appearance of the overlapping teeth.
Teeth Whitening
ZOOM whitening was used to brighten Andrea’s smile using ‘power swabs’ (which improve the
whitening effect and reduce sensitivity).
RESULTS – Whiter, brighter and straighter teeth.

Patient: Wayne
Dentist: Dr Fadi Yassmin
Wayne 44, had purposely grown his moustache and beard to such
a length that it would hide the majority of his mouth which was full
of decay and missing teeth. Wayne also complained of having a
constant metallic taste in his mouth from his broken amalgam
fillings. In general Wayne was highly self conscious about his
teeth and was hoping for a significant transformation in this area.
Treatment Provided
Photos and Radiographic records
Photos and radiographic records were taken to allow accurate
assessment of the existing dentition (development and
arrangement of teeth in his mouth) and to give Wayne a visual
view of the treatment needed.
Preventative care (Dental prophylaxis)
Deep scaling and polishing to remove the buildup of heavy plaque
(also known as calculus and tartar) and staining on Wayne’s teeth,
helping prevent cavities, further tooth loss and gum disease.
Oral hygiene routine
Cariscreen and caries free rinse program. Custom trays of GC tooth
mousse were created for home use, which will help prevent tooth
decay (that can lead to cavities, pain, tooth loss and infection) and
minimise intrinsic staining (white specs on teeth).
White fillings
To rejuvenate his teeth, broken amalgam fillings were replaced with white fillings for a more
natural, comfortable smile. Due to the nature of the breakdown of a lot of Wayne’s amalgam
fillings, custom porcelain inlay or onlay were placed.
Crowns
Dental crowns were placed in cases where large fillings were not an option. This was an excellent
way to restore and retain Wayne’s teeth whilst also achieving a highly aesthetic appearance.
Teeth whitening
BriteSmile whitening system was used to whiten Wayne’s teeth. Custom trays were also made to
give Wayne a whitening maintenance program to take home to help sustain his whiter smile.
RESULTS – Teeth revealed! Totally rejuvenated with increased
longevity.
